FFHP 101T Employability Skills Training (Effective Apr 2019)

This program covers the training required by industry for an entry level position including, WHMIS, Fall protection, S - 100, Switchback, First Aid Level 1 with Transportation Endorsement.

FFHP 102T Foundation (Effective Apr 2019)

This foundation program covers essential skills, industry orientation, tools and equipment, forest harvesting operations and work site preparation required for a basic entry level position in the Forest Harvesting sector.

Prerequisite: Admission to program.

FFHP 103T Occupational Skills (Effective Apr 2019)

Describe and apply the knowledge, attributes and skills required for a basic entry level position as required by a Landing/utility person, Choker person, Rigging slinger or mechanical harvesting entry level position including species, Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), emergency preparedness, communication, Regulations and Legislation related to the Forest Industry.

FFHP 104T Light Truck (Effective Apr 2019)

Describe and apply the knowledge, attributes and skills required for light truck operation including dynamics, hazards, emergency response, trailer towing.

FFHP 105T Hazards (Effective Apr 2019)

Recognize, evaluate, control and practice of safe work practices related to general forestry, yarding, falling, and mechanical harvesting.

Prerequisite: Admission to program.

FFHP 106T Workplace Work Experience (Effective Apr 2019)

An opportunity to work in the "real world" to gain important skills as well as an understanding of the nature of the entry level forest harvesting work life. The time spent on a worksite also provides an opportunity for making new contacts in the chosen field.
