IED 321 (3) Provincial Instructor Education

Topics include theories and approaches to curriculum development, including competency-based and outcomes-based education, instructional design, lesson-plans and activities for teaching and learning. This course highlights the importance of alignment between outcomes, delivery of instruction, and the assessment and evaluation of learning. (1:2.75:0 for 12 weeks)

Prerequisite: Evidence of subject matter expertise as demonstrated by a diploma, bachelor's degree, trades certification, substantial workplace experience, or departmental approval.

IED 322 (3) Delivery of Instruction

Topics include planning instruction, designing and facilitating learning activities, instructional techniques and processes, giving & receiving feedback, assessing learning, and debriefing learning activities. Participants apply a variety of instructional methodologies and techniques to engage and encourage students to interact with the course content. (1:2:0 for 10 weeks)
